Why Lifting Weights Won’t Make You ‘Bulky’

It’s something we hear time and time again in the gym, “But won’t lifting weights make me bulky?”. Gym owner Bam tells us why lifting weights one of the most beneficial things you can do for your health and why you should embrace it.

Hi! Bam here 🙋🏼‍♀️ wanting to dispel the myth around weights making you bulky!

Let’s clear a few things up to start, there is nothing wrong with looking strong, big, or bulky!

Muscle is amazing for your health and longevity! As someone who has also been on the receiving end of comments about the size or look of my arms and overall size of my body, let’s just put it out there for all the women, that strong and muscular is also attractive. Plus it will also help us as we move into menopause. I love my muscles and I’m here to keep them!

For those of you who are worried about packing on muscle, in reality gaining significant lean mass is challenging! It takes a combination of high training volume,  intention, effort, diet and real commitment. Plus, women build muscle and respond to training differently compared to men.
